Each season on Kiawah Island has something special to offer. Spring is no exception. The days are warmer and longer. And the list of activities to enjoy gets longer, too. We’ll give you a quick rundown of some events happening in April and May on the Island.

April 8: The Spring Starlight Cinema takes place with a movie under the stars at Freshfields Village. Bring a chair, blanket, and a picnic to enjoy the animated Pixar film, Luca.” The movie starts at 8 p.m. 

Through April 8: The Lowcountry Strawberry Festival at Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens in Mount Pleasant is an annual event over two weekends, with carnival rides, music, and performances, a petting zoo, festival food, contests, and more.

April 9: Bring your Easter basket for the free Easter Egg Hunt & Toss at Night Heron Park, with the hunt beginning at 10 a.m. sharp! The egg toss takes place after the egg hunt. 

April 14: The Kiawah Art & House Tour self-guided tour features five homes, each displaying unique architectural and design features, impressive art collections, and notable island views. From 1-5 p.m., see some of the areas most exclusive homes. Click here to purchase the $75 tickets. You will receive an email on April 12 with instructions on where to pick up your wristband and tour booklet.

April 16: Listen to a free concert with 17th Blues by the Sea, which takes place from 3-7 p.m. at Freshfields Village Green. Bring a chair, blanket, and cooler. The event takes place rain or shine, but no pets, please. 

April 22: The Lowcountry Cajun Festival at James Island County Park is back with Zydeco music, Cajun and Creole cooking, kids' activities, and more. You can also get your fill of Lowcountry favorites like seafood and barbecue. The fest takes place from noon to 6 p.m. Advance tickets are $35 per car. All-day kid’s wristbands are available for $10 each to enjoy inflatables and a climbing wall.  

May 2, 9, 16 & 23: Grab your dance partner and cut the rug with Shag Night on the Village Green at Freshfields Village. The free event takes place from 6-8 p.m. each Tuesday.

May 20: Cruise the classic automobiles with Cars & Coffee, held from 9-11 a.m. on the third Saturday of each month at the Village Green in Freshfields Village. Java Java is on hand offering coffee and breakfast available for purchase. 

May 26: From 6-9 p.m., enjoy the free Memorial Day Weekend Music on the Green Concert series on the Village Green at Freshfields Village. Bring a blanket and chairs. If you cant make the Friday night concert, no worries. The Village Green fills with music again on May 27.
