Holidays

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, so spend it in a wondrous vacation spot! Kiawah Island, Isle of Palms and Seabrook Island are delightful year-round destinations. The holiday season is no exception.

Local restaurants, boutiques and resorts deck the halls and roll out the holly to provide a festive, fun atmosphere.

Holiday Activities at Kiawah Island Resort

First, check out Kiawah Island Resort, which offers a stocking full of activities from craft-making workshops to traditional Christmas Eve and Christmas Day meals served in their restaurants. One of those is the Feast of the Seven Fishes, or festa dei settle pesci, celebrated on Christmas Eve. The tradition of eating seafood dates to Medieval times when meat markets were closed on holy holidays. Call 843-266-4070 to reserve a table at Tomasso at Turtle Point.

Holiday Festival of Lights

Second, enjoy the Holiday Festival of Lights as James Island County Park transforms into a winter wonderland. Drive through the park to see millions of dazzling lights cued to your favorite Christmas tunes. Enjoy the music and light show, then stop at the half-way point for hot-cocoa and sweets and maybe even a visit from the Jolly Old Elf. Holiday Festival of Lights takes place nightly through Dec. 31. Cost is $20 per standard-size vehicle.

Dinner Delivered to Your Door

Third, when you stay in one of our Wild Dunes Resort properties, have your holiday feast delivered. The talented catering crew prepares a special meal of roasted whole turkey with caramelized onion and Boursin cheese stuffing, smoked gouda mac & cheese, mashed potatoes and giblet gravy, lemon cranberry sauces, pecan pie and more.

You can even have a Holiday Party Pleaser tray delivered for Christmas entertaining.

Stories & Sweets on the Stoop With Santa

Fourth, if you are staying at Wild Dunes or Isle of Palms, reserve a Stories & Sweets on the Stoop with Santa visit. Santas helper delivers cookies and milk to your doorstep, and then the family can enjoy a special reading of "Twas the Night Before Christmas” from Santa – read aloud outside from a safe social distance. Stories with Santa takes place from 5-7 p.m. Dec. 20-23. Cost is $25 per visit.

A Traditional Christmas at Boone Hall Plantation

Fifth, enjoy A Traditional Christmas at Boone Hall Plantation as the Mount Pleasant attraction gets all decked out for the holidays. The event takes place Dec. 6 through Jan. 3 (except Christmas Day). The beautiful live oak trees that line the long driveway welcome visitors. Decorated live Christmas trees and poinsettias are displayed throughout the house.

Experience a Lowcountry holiday this year when you book a luxury beach property. Then, just relax and celebrate a Merry Christmas.
