Fall is underway, meaning one thing: Halloween is just around the corner. The Charleston coast hosts a full slate of activities to enjoy during your stay

For the little ones, the Boone Hall Farms Pumpkin Patch is open Fridays to Sundays through Oct. 29. This annual fall festival features tractor tours, a corn maze, a petting zoo, shows, exhibits, crafts, pumpkins, food vendors, and live performances. Admission is $15 for ages three and up.

Don a costume and come out for the Halloween Golf Cart Parade & Carnival with a Drive-Thru Haunted House from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27, on Isle of Palms. The parade line-up begins at 3:30 p.m. on 27th Avenue. Register a golf cart or watch the parade. Afterward, head to the drive-thru haunted house (if you dare), and enjoy inflatables, food vendors, and trick-or-treat bags for the kids.

For those who find it fun to be scared out of their wits, Boone Hall Fright Nights takes place Fridays through Sundays the first two weeks of October and Thursdays through Sundays after Oct. 19. Guests can see all three attractions with one $38 ScreamPass. These are not recommended for guests under 12 or those who do not like being scared. Children under six will not be admitted. Click here for tickets.

Frightmare by the Sea at Wild Dunes Resort takes place from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28. Guests stroll the festive plaza to view fall-themed decor vendors and charming shops, as well as exciting trick-or-treat stations for the young and young-at-heart. The festivities continue as the path leads to the prestigious Boardwalk Inn Hotel, where the seasonal magic lingers within its halls. Follow the trail along the Boardwalk to the Grand Pavilion, the hub of celebration, featuring a lively DJ, a Halloween costume contest, and heartwarming bonfires illuminating the sandy beach.

If storytelling is your jam, book Tales of the Lowcountry where you’ll hear a captivating collection of stories that detail the region’s rich history, haunted tales and occasional humor. Explore the moonlit shores where whispered legends and lingering spirits await. The Tales take place at 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays in October at The Beach at Wild Dunes Resort. The cost is $45 per person.
