Kiawah Island

There is no better place than Kiawah Island to celebrate the traditional start of spring, Easter. With picture-perfect weather, delicious dining and a basketful of family-friendly events, Kiawah Island makes a great setting to create memorable experiences.

The fun starts on April 5 with the Eggstreme Kayak Hunt, taking the egg hunt to the water. Participants paddle out from Mingo Point, with times set 9 a.m. to noon and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Equipped with a paddle and a net, teams of two take to a tandem kayak in search of eggs” scattered throughout the salt marsh. The price is $65 for adults and $45 for children ages 3-11. Call 843-768-6001 to make a reservation (required).

A Bunny Hop 5K occurs at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 7 at the Sanctuary Beach Access. This year marks Kiawahs first Bunny Hop – a one-mile walk or 5K run on the beach for families, beginners, or competitive runners. Music and games begin at 4:30 p.m. Put on your complimentary bunny ears, and enjoy this free activity.

An Easter Egg Hunt & Toss takes place from 10 to 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 9 at Night Heron Park. The Egg Hunt & Toss is a Kiawah annual Easter tradition! Bring the entire family to and join the Easter Bunny for fun events. The hunt starts at 10 a.m. Get there on time because egg hunts are over almost as soon as they begin. Dont forget your Easter basket! The egg toss starts at the conclusion of the Egg Hunt. The Easter Bunny will be available for pictures starting at 9:30 a.m. The free event requires no reservation.

Other events during the week include holiday-themed crafts, movie nights, festivals, and outdoor recreation.
