Are you planning a 2022 beach vacation on the Carolina coast? Organized packing is a crucial element for a good holiday. Some travelers put more time into prep than on their actual vacation.
No need for that. Make packing easy with some essential tips that help you enjoy both your preparation and island time.
First, pack the necessities. These are the must-have items like your wallet, purse, cash, credit cards, ID or driver's license, car, and house keys. Pack eyeglasses and/or contact lenses. Fill prescriptions. You don't need a road map, as long as you don't forget your cell phone. Oh, and don't forget the charger. Sunscreen is a necessity if you plan to spend time on the golf course or at the beach. And on the Carolina coast, you will do one of the other - or both.
For clothing, remember this is the beach. Think lightweight, cool and comfortable - like cotton. But also know that our weather can be unpredictable. Bring a rain jacket and lightweight sweater. A swimsuit is also a necessity in the summer, as is a hat and sunglasses. Bring a beach towel, as well. While we stock our vacation rentals with bath towels, you'll want a big beach towel for sunbathing. As for packing those clothes, roll instead of fold. Tightly rolled clothes take up less space and don't get as wrinkled as folded clothing.
As far as shoes, think comfortable and casual. Tennis shoes, sandals, flip flops, and deck shoes all work at just about any establishment on the beach. After all, the goal here is to get your toes in the sand. Right?
