Welcome to Sweetgrass Properties' Storm Watch Information Page. We understand that our guests may have concerns about the storm, and we want to assure you that we are closely monitoring the situation.

Current Status

We are monitoring multiple storms in the Atlantic Ocean.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), any potential effects we may experience early next week would come from the developing system currently being tracked (located in the Southwestern Atlantic). This storm has been upgraded to a Potiental Tropical Cyclone, currently called PTC #9. There is still a possibility of hurricane conditions in the coming days. Both the timing, path, and severity may change if and when the storm intensifies.

What we know right now:

  • While not yet officially named, the system in the Southwestern Atlantic, as of 5:00PM Friday, has begun to organize and develop into a potential tropical cyclone (being called PTC #9).
  • There is a high probability that it will intesify into a tropical storm, and later a low-level hurricane, in the next several days.
  • As of 5:00PM Friday, the South Carolina Coast is NOT offically under any type of tropical storm or hurricane watch or warning and evacuations have NOT been ordered. This could change.
  • While the exact path is not certain, if the storm does make landfall along the South Carolina Coast, it will bring heavy rains, strong winds storm surge and possible power outages and bridge closures to our area.
  • Earliest possible impacts appear to be Monday evening into Tuesday and last for a couple of days. The timing can change as the storm continues to develop.
  • As of 5:00PM Friday, Sweetgrass Properties is currently operating as normal. We are closely monitoring NOAA updates and will provide timely communication if conditions change.

Also important to note that as of 5:00PM Friday, the active hurricane in the Atlantic, Humberto, is not currently expected to have direct impacts on our area.
