Capturing the true essence of a relaxing Kiawah getaway, treat yourself to a stay at 181 Glen Abbey. This luxury vacation home is nestled in the Vanderhorst Plantation of Kiawah Island Resort. The home completed a full year renovation in February 2018, brandishing the home in new furnishings, updated appliances and modern fixtures. The home was designed for enjoying Kiawah's natural beauty and luxurious accommodations.

One of the main features of the home is the amazing outdoor space. Surrounded by mature palm trees, the infinity pool appears to flow into a tranquil lagoon and the heated outdoor spa is ideal for relaxation. The secluded deck is perfect for entertaining or sunbathing.
As soon as you enter the grandiose, two-story foyer, the sophistication of Kiawah Island is captured inside this well decorated property. The living room, decorated in a contemporary chic style, boasts floor to ceiling windows allowing the natural sunlight to fill the gorgeous space. There are panoramic views of the infinity pool and Canvasback Pond from almost every room. The living room has a 65” mounted flat-screen TV with Sonos sound system. The plush seating, in cream and blue hues, includes a sectional sofa and several club chairs for watching a good show or indulging with a good book.

The dining room area is located just off the open living room and features elegant table seating for 10 guests. Modern luxury extends to the large, newly renovated, gourmet kitchen, which contains custom cabinetry with open faced shelves and tile backsplash as well as high-end stainless steel appliances (Sub-Zero, Wolf, Bosch) and a large island for extra counter-space to make cooking a breeze. The large kitchen island, including the large farmhouse sink, for perfect for hosting an area to socialize or prep a delicious meal. You can utilize the 4 high-top chairs at island or the two-person breakfast counter for additional dining seating. Don't forget about the outdoor grill, perfect for a backyard BBQ.

Finishing off the main floor is a spacious king bedroom and a French doors leading to the pool. This bedroom has a private bathroom which is fully-upgraded with granite countertops and a modern tiled standing shower.

Halfway up the stairs, you'll find the impressive master suite. It features a king size bed, reading nook, and two comfortable arm chairs. The private, spa-style bathroom has dual vanities, soaking tub and huge walk-in shower.

At the top of the stairs are the remaining three guest bedrooms with fully-renovated, en-suite bathrooms. Bedrooms three, four and five contain one king bed, three twin beds (third bed is a twin-trundle bed), and two queen beds, respectively. Each room is decorated in classic coastal decor, attractive furnishings, and have flat screened TVs.

There is also an inviting upstairs living room area, with a pull-out sleeper sofa and comfortable arm chairs, offering more space for watching TV, playing games, or relaxing. Additionally, there is a small loft area just up the charming circular staircase for a peak at the gorgeous island views. A nice addition to further make this place your own.

Additionally, the home has upgraded WiFi and smart TVs throughout the home to enhance the experience of working/schooling remotely and streaming your favorite shows and movies. And, there is a small, portable desk and desk chair in the upstairs den, which can be relocated for your convenience.

An access bridge just next to the home allows for a short 4-minute walk over to 10 miles of sandy beaches. Golf on five world class courses. Play tennis on premier courts. Amazing Stay!

We stayed at 181 Glen Abbey with our extended family (group of 10). There was plenty of space, the beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped, and the house was beautifully decorated. Our favorite part was the infinity pool and spa. That pool made it hard to leave and walk to the beach even though the beach was less than a five minute walk away. We are planning on renting this house again for our annual family trip. Can’t wait to come back to Glen Abbey!

We just completed our one week stay at this beautiful home in Kiawah. The layout and amenities were conducive to relaxing family time around the pool and hot tub and indoors in the open family room. We also enjoyed a catered meal at home and competed in a family cook-off dinner which worked well in the large and well-furnished kitchen.

Our family of 11 all throughly enjoyed this house! All rooms and baths are exactly as pictured and provided plenty of space for everyone and the beds were comfy. The kitchen is well stocked and living and dining spaces have room for large groups like ours. The back deck and pool were fantastic and had a good number of seats. Location to the beach is terrific for walking or biking. We would defiantly return to this rental in the future.

Our family loved our week in Kiawah Island. Glenn Abbey was a perfect fit for our group. It is a beautiful home nestled in a picturesque, natural, piece of paradise. We enjoyed seeing the alligators in the marsh and deer and rabbits wandering the area. We highly recommend this home when visiting Kiawah Island

Everyone loved 181 Glen Abbey and are eager to return. It’s a beautiful, well-maintained home in a great location. It would be ideal if there were desks in the middle- and upper-level king bedrooms for those who need to work.

Second time we have rented with Sweetgrass. Both houses exactly as described. Both very beautiful and loved pools … with great proximity to beach. Got a call from Drew from Sweetgrass a couple of days before our arrival. Wolf oven was not working and would not be fixed for 5 days due to getting part to fix. Problem was we had a chefs in house dinner on Friday for our 50th Anniversary. Drew guaranteed that the oven would be fixed the Thursday before the dinner. And it was! There were other minor issues with with the house, but Drew took care of them on the day we called. I don’t think many other property rental companies would have done any better than Drew and Sweetgrass Properties. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

181 Glen Abbey is an outstanding designed and equipped house. The location, pool and hot tub were the main features that attracted us to the rental. Sweetgrass responded immediately to beach towels that were missing and problems with the hot tub. Unfortunately, the hot tub heat was a problem and a replacement part needed to be installed. The part was installed Thursday, September 2nd. The loss of the hot tub for 5 days impacted our overall stay and requested Sweetgrass to address a credit for the lost days with the owner. I would definitely consider Sweetgrass Properties, 181 Glen Abbey, rental in the future.

Stayed here with my brothers' two families and my parents for a week. The house has all that you need. Great amenities, walkable beach access, and a full bathroom for each bedroom. The kitchen and bathrooms are all up to date and very nice. The pool was great for the kids. It was also very useful to have a 2nd fridge in the garage. Very much enjoyed our stay and may return in the future.

We have vacationed at Kiawah for many years and have stayed at 181 Glen Abbey several times. We have a family group of ten, grandparents to grandkids. The pool is wonderful, nearness to the beach great. The house meets our needs perfectly. We love the kitchen and outdoor spaces. Bedrooms are nice and allow for sleeping-in teens to early bird beach walkers.

Beautiful, spacious, updated home with a terrific layout and all the amenities! Pool and hot tub were a bonus, and the home is located next to the beach path for easy access. Sweetgrass was easy to work with- very good communication with detailed instructions leading into and out of our vacation. We also had one small issue with the hot tub, and they put in a late day work order and sent someone out by early the next day to take care of it. We will definitely look to book this home again, it was perfect for our family of 10!

This home exceeded our expectations, which were already lofty! Great location, close to the beach and in a lovely neighborhood. Amazing infinity pool and hot tub. Clean, modern amenities throughout--felt like a brand new house. And the management company, Sweetgrass, did a great job making checkin/out super easy, and providing a clean and well stocked home. Would definitely stay here again!

We were at Kiawah for a family wedding and this home was perfect for decompressing and relaxation between the events! We enjoyed the hot tub after tennis, golf, biking, pickle ball and sunrise swims in the ocean. The spacious kitchen and pool deck were a perfect place for family to gather comfortably before or after an event. Most bedrooms are large, quiet, and dark so we all slept soundly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely rent again.

Glen Abbey was such a lovely vacation home for our family of 8 this year on Kiawah! Beautiful equipped kitchen, wonderful floor plan! Bedrooms offered privacy on three levels with 3 King beds for adult couples and twins/doubles for the children. We also appreciated its proximity to the beach...just a short walk to sunrises & play in the surf & sand. Our family also enjoyed the backdoor pool. Thank you Sweetgrass for a spectacular week of fun and memorable times together.

We have been staying at Kiawah for many years and appreciate the opportunity to stay at your home during the PGA. We enjoyed the stay, Clean Home, Good directions, love the round table on the pool porch! Would have been nice to have the pool a little warmer.

We very much enjoyed our stay. 181 is a beautiful home. We all lives the walk to the beach over the bridge, cooked some great meals in the well equipped kitchen, and had lots of fun in the pool. The locks on the sliding glass doors in the back of the house are broken making it impossible to lock the house up and despite following the provided directions for the hot tub to the letter we were never able to get it going.

As for the hot tub, we have never had any complaints from guests in the past about getting it to work. We reached out to the property manager about this as well and she mentioned that the pool/hot tub company has looked into any issues with this and said that the hot tub is working properly. If you ever have any issues like this during your stay, please do not hesitate to reach out.

The Sweetgrass Property team was amazing in prepping our stay, keeping us informed before the trip, and providing anything needed during the stay. This house is totally wonderful! It fit our three families beautifully, is so well stocked and the modern, classic style made us feel more like home than in a rental. The pool is beautiful and being so close to the beach walkway was a real gift! We plan to return!

We have loved working with Sweet grass Properties over the years. This year we ran out of propane which meant no hot water or gas for grill. The emergency service dispatcher was horrible, extremely unhelpful and unresponsive. We did not get any resolution overnight. However when the office heard of the issue the next morning, we were given compensation and quick response. My complaint would be for the dispatch service, not Sweetgrass Property itself.

We greatly enjoyed our week long stay at this property. The floor plan is bright and open and the entire home is beautifully decorated and recently renovated. The bedrooms are spacious and the adjoining bathrooms are very nice. The amenities are fantastic. We loved the outdoor area with the pool and spa and the view of the lagoon from the deck is gorgeous. The house location is perfect with a very short walk (couple of minutes) to the beach. We highly recommend this property and would definitely stay here again!

The home was wonderful. The rooms are all tastefully decorated with very comfortable beds, a bathroom for each bedroom, awesome shower heads, a great location (close to beach/bike path), and a fabulous pool and hot tub. The kitchen was very functional and had plenty of pantry and cabinet space, high-end appliances.

Beautiful home....pool and near to beach worked perfectly with 3 little ones. We especially appreciated the trees and shade provided at different times during the day on the patio/pool.Property management extremely helpful when ice maker on refrigerator didn't work. Christina went above and beyond to assist during our stay and especially was helpful in helping return an item left in the home. Many thanks to Christina!!

Loved it !!!! One of the best family vacations we have taken. Amazing house, deck, pool. Beautiful furnishings and amenities. Everything we needed and more. Large comfortable bedrooms and adjoining luxury bathrooms. Easy walk to beach for bike riding, swim and sun. Can't wait to go back ! No problems, management perfect. Very organized. GREAT property.
