Highly recommend booking this home. Comfortable throughout (great layout, comfy beds, elevator for those who need it). The team was helpful and highly responsive. We always heard from them within the day and they had fixes for issues day of. The location is great bc you are a 5 min walk from your own private access entrance to the beach, and you’re only a 15 min drive from Freshfield Village (so not so deep into the island that it takes forever to get in and out). Beautiful views, very relaxing, and worked perfectly for our group (including 2 toddlers!). If we return to Kiawah, this is where we will stay again.

Lots of room for hanging out, living area and porches, pool deck. So convenient to walk to the beach on a boardwalk. Couple of minor items in kitchen needed, wine glasses and steak knives, but feel sure management will fix that after we brought it to their attention. Great place for families, couples, friend groups! Would definitely book again.

We had four adult couples staying here in April to celebrate my mother-in-law’s birthday. The space worked very well for the 8 adults. The home is large, quiet, and comfortably furnished. We especially liked the large dining table that allowed us all to eat dinner together. The location is ideal: access to the beach via our own path, as well as via Kiawah’s public beach access points and bike paths. Views from the two back patios were beautiful for both breakfast and evening — you really have to see them to appreciate them. The many patios (front and back) were extensively used and appreciated. From a practical perspective, the elevator was great and helpful, and the washer/dryer worked perfectly. Several of the appliances were new (the dishwasher was a champion). We went with the option to heat the pool and were glad we did, as that afforded yet another way to enjoy the home. Over the course of a week, we had no complaints about any of the basics (water pressure or temperature, etc.) and the place was very clean. We did have an issue with the disposal, but the property management company (Sweetgrass) was fantastically responsive, and the problem was addressed very quickly. Everyone had very positive things to say about Sweetgrass. My wife and I have rented homes at Kiawah half a dozen times now, and we always worry that the pictures and the reality won’t line up (it happens). That was NOT the case with 43 Surfsong: it delivered on everything it promised, our entire group was effusive about the week, and I don’t think we would have changed a thing. Some minor notes. The bathroom for the bedroom on the “main” floor (2nd floor) was almost comically small, though the shower was very good. The AC worked well, though we had some significant temperature differences between the 3rd and 1st floors. The sound system could probably stand an update or some instructions. But none of these nits took away from what was a wonderful week in SC.

We loved our stay at this house for an executive retreat. Sweetgrass was fantastic and accommodated all our requests including personal chef recommendations and airport transportation services. The home is charming and spacious. The porches are lovely and views out to the ocean which is a short direct and private boardwalk away.

This house is beautiful in every way. The layout is perfect & we especially enjoyed the large dining room table for family meal time. Each bedroom is laid out perfectly with bathrooms & showers strategically placed. The decks each floor with deck views are amazing. And most of all, this house is in excellent condition, updated & immaculate. Plus Sweetgrass Properties team was always available and prepared to manage any situation or question we had. I highly recommend this property for a wonderful family vacation!
