Things to Do

One of the best ways to end a beach day is with a craft cocktail, ice-cold beer, or glass of wine while toasting the sunset. Fortunately, there are several Insta-worthy spots along the South Carolina coast.

On Kiawah Island, the Ryder Cup Bar at the Ocean Course offers a spacious veranda with a view of the Atlantic. The restaurant serves modern pub fare, but it’s the salt-air breezes and spectacular views you’ll celebrate. No reservations are needed.

The Atlantic Room at Kiawah Island Resort offers upscale seafood and an extensive wine list. While the restaurant may be a little pricey, it comes with a stunning sunset view. This one does require a reservation.

On Isle of Palms, toast a spectacular sunset at The Boathouse at Breach Inlet with the spicy jalapeño Margarita or the Sunshine Crush, made with Deep Eddy orange vodka, Malibu rum, orange juice, and creme de cacao. The Boathouse also offers a rotating selection of beer on tap, including local brews.

Or look out over the ocean from a rooftop bar or deck at Coconut Joe’s Beach Grill. Enjoy a frozen concoction like the Parrot Colada, made with Don Q Rum, strawberry syrup, and whipped cream. You also can’t go wrong with the Mad Mango, made with Deep Eddy vodka, mango puree, and raspberry liqueur.

If you want to hear live music as the sun sets, head to The Windjammer on Front Beach. Sip a cold beer while enjoying beach eats like buffalo chicken wings, cheeseburgers, and more. It’s not a quiet place for a sunset cocktail. But it is fun.

Find a combination of Italian seafood paired with spectacular ocean views at Coda del Pesce, which could be the most beautiful Italian cuisine spot you’ll find anywhere outside of Italy. Sip a specialty drink and take it all in.

On Seabrook Island, head to Bohicket Marina & Market. It has a couple of restaurants on-site, but you can also get a bottle of brew and watch the breathtaking sunset from the dock.

Of course, one of the best spots to watch a sunset with a drink in your hand is from your rental’s balcony. Many of our properties, such as 1369 Pelican Watch and 80 Inlet Cove, offer perfect views. Grab a beer from the fridge or mix your favorite cocktail in your well-equipped kitchen.

Cheers to the end of another perfect vacation day!
