Trip Planning

Charleston is the place to be. Whether you’re coming into town for a golf getaway or bringing the whole family together for a beach trip, there’s something truly special for every type of visitor. While the hustle and bustle of Downtown and nearby Folly Beach are endearing to many, we prefer the quiet of Kiawah and Seabrook Island, or the beach resort appeal of Isle of Palms and Wild Dunes

No matter where you stay for your adventure to the Lowcountry, there’s experiences galore and the perfect home for any group. Here at Sweetgrass Properties, we pride ourselves not only on the areas we serve but the quality of homes within them. Along with that, we truly care about pairing your trip with the perfect home to match it!

Areas

Kiawah Island

Nestled just south of the Charleston peninsula, the charming gated community of Kiawah Island is filled to the brim with wildlife, pristine white sand beaches and rolling greens of stunning luxury golfing. With over 30 miles of biking trails and grand oaks covered in Spanish moss, Kiawah Island is the quintessential Southern getaway for those looking to escape into the Lowcountry.

Perfect for families looking for a quiet, beachfront getaway, couples looking for a private retreat or a golf group who finally got a tee time at The Ocean Course, Kiawah is the ideal getaway for any and all. Ranked #2 for Best US Island in 2025 by Conde Nast Traveller, this one of a kind community is incomparable.

Seabrook Island

Craving a neighborhood feel in a coastal community just outside of the Charleston region? Seabrook Island is the sister island to Kiawah, just on the opposite side of Freshfields Village. Gated and boasting an Equestrian Center, top notch golfing, the Seabrook Island Beach Club and Lake House, along with golf cart access throughout the area, Seabrook Island is a quieter counterpart to Kiawah with just as much charm.

Ideal for groups looking for a family-friendly island with plenty of local activities or a couple looking to hit the beach from right outside their condo door, we highly recommend Seabrook for its charm and its peacefulness. You get all the benefits of Kiawah Island with a slightly smaller community feel!

Isle of Palms

Known for its coastal-town energy and its vast, wide-open beaches, Isle of Palms is a bustling coastal retreat like no other. With plenty of local restaurants, brunch spots, shopping and activities right on the island, it’s no wonder this beach is a hit with visitors and locals alike. Palm trees dot the main boulevard while Front Beach bustles with tourists looking for beach gear, an oceanfront Pina Colada and a snack to bring out to the dunes.

There’s something so special about the energy on Isle of Palms during peak summer. This area is ideal for families looking to have everything nearby, from restaurants to shopping, beach access and golfing. Sea Cabin condos allow for this to be an ideal retreat for couples looking for a cozy escape while large, luxurious properties along Palm Blvd. make it ideal for large groups hunting for the perfect island getaway.

Wild Dunes

Driving deeper into the heart of Isle of Palms, you’ll discover Wild Dunes Resort, a gated community just past the Isle of Palms Marina. This resort boasts plenty of hotels and condos with pool bar access, restaurants, and shopping along the shore! Within this resort, there are also opportunities for tennis or pickleball, biking and golfing. Even better, this private resort has stunning views off the North end of the island, with semi-private beaches perfect for those trying to escape the busyness of Front Beach.

Wild Dunes is the perfect getaway for families in need of a resort-like retreat with a level of privacy that far exceeds Isle of Palms. With opportunities for golfing and shopping between the busy beach and pool days at local condos or villas, there’s a little bit of something for everyone. Quiet and quaint but still boasting that coastal energy, Wild Dunes has been a hit for families and groups for years, and we can understand why!
