Isle of Palms offers free daily use of beach accessible wheelchairs on a first-come, first-served basis. Although advanced reservations are not accepted, getting to the beach earlier in the day can guarantee easier access to amenities. Wheelchairs are available at the Fire Department Apparatus Bay and can be brought to any of the ADA-accessible access points across the island.

Kiawah Island is an island retreat like no other, and guests with disabilities are still able to enjoy the picturesque coastline from Beachwalker Park, near the entrance to the island. Both the entry ramp and the boardwalk are wheelchair accessible and beach-friendly wheelchairs are available to rent on site. Free of charge and first-come, first-served, these wheelchairs can not be booked in advance. With only two handicap accessible access points throughout the island, Seabrook is slightly harder to access for those with disabilities. However, with some strategic planning, the perfect vacation for all is still within grasp. Two handicap accessible ramps are available, one off of Rolling Dune Rd. and the northernmost access point off of Seabrook Island Rd. Beach wheelchairs are available at the Rolling Dunes access point on a first-come, first-served basis.

Sullivan’s Island is an idyllic spot for a day trip! With a gorgeous main street filled with shopping and restaurants, Sullivan’s is a great spot to bring family and friends together. This beach town does require a formal application to be submitted to Town Hall to reserve a beach-friendly wheelchair. - 4 Handicapped parking spaces
- Bathrooms and showers
- Only ADA-compliant access to the popular Folly Beach Washout
There are only 4 beach access points that are considered ADA-accessible throughout the 6-mile length of the island, making the Walkover the key access point for visitors.
